Please join us for a postdoc career development event with Barbara Beltz. She will be giving us an overview of the Tenure Track Academic Job Application.

Barbara Beltz is Allene Lummis Russell Professor in Neuroscience at Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA, where she currently serves as Director of the Neuroscience Program. She joined the faculty at Wellesley in 1987, after receiving her PhD from Princeton University (1979) and postdoctoral training in the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. In addition to teaching undergraduate neuroscience courses, Dr. Beltz has published over 80 peer-reviewed research articles, as well as two books. Her research interests focus on the relationship between the immune system and nervous system, and specifically how the immune system is involved in the production of neurons in the adult brain. Her lab recently demonstrated that cells from the innate immune system generate adult-born neurons in a non-vertebrate model.
